Meh. Bummed out right now.

On top of the three little lemon plants I having growing. I had bought a small jade plant from the Ex back in august. I noticed these weird little hite things on it a few weeks ago. When poked they jsut sorta fell off, so I didnt think anything of it. Well I did a little research and it seems like my plant, which is otherwise growing well has somehow gotten mealybugs. Bleh.

I moved it to another room, that has no plants to avoid them spreading while treating the plant.

Sadly with much paranoia I spent a good while inspecting my lemon plants. Hell I spent alot of time on those little guys. Regardless. While I haven't seen any furry white bugs (Mealybugs) on the plants themselves. I saw a teeny tiny white one, long and fast, running through the soil of my strongest one. And of course, where there is one, there is more and I really dont want to deal with an infestation. I suspect whatever that is probably came from the soil, which would in turn mean all my plants have it since they were all planted using the same (BRAND NEW) potting soil.

Ugh. I'm just depressed. I know theres alot of insects that like potting soil, and its nothing new, but bah.

And...I'm grossed out. Researching bugs and treatments mean sI have to find out what they are, which mean sI have to look at pictures of them....magnified pictures.

Just thinking about it makes my skin crawl.

Probbaly going to have to repot them with new soil, probably pasteurized.

I need to get less emotionally attached to things that don't have brains.
