Hey awesome picture, I love dragons and the color choice on this one is very hot looking (...literally?) but the one thing that I think detracts from this image is the shading. In this situation, I think, the dragon would be more or less silhouetted against the bright light behind it (the sun), and like, on the legs and stuff, there's some sort of invisible lightsource which isn't really plausible. To give the impression of the light coming from behind the dragon, here's a few suggestions:
1) Darkening the whole thing a bit might work. I'm sure you've seen things silhouetted against bright lights - try putting your hand up next to the monitor when it's dark if you don't remember or don't know. Also, perhaps removing the odd "greyish" lightsource, or at least making it less intense, would work.
2.) Increase the contrast of your shading and invest in more than just shades of black. Some red or even blue if you really want contrast might work on the darkest parts (though red for "silhouetted darkness"). I'm guessing that you're going for a pretty much warm spectrum, and you might be able to "contrast" that with some cold colors in the corners of the sky, the clouds, and in the shading, but if you don't feel like experimenting with that, you could just use shades of red in the shading. The involvement of cold colors is in fact a pretty big experiment, which means it might not work, but if you're in the mood to play around, give it a shot, it could produce amazing results. I can already notice some colder blue-greyish colors in the grass!
3.) The shadow on the ground might do with extending a bit, but that could be difficult. It's just a suggestion
4.) Use light yellow-orange colors in the highlighting, especially on parts that might be "outlined", where they are closest to the sun, the highlighting could be sharpest there to give hte impression of the light "blooming" around the character. I think that actual light blooming could be used on the "top" of the thumb on the wing (the part that is facing towards the ground, closest to the sun).
OMFG!! Pyro this is so fucking awesome! I mean wow... Your dragon anatomy is just overly amazing! I mean this is just incredible! Your artwork is improving so damn much... I mean the wings are awesome and the background is beautifuly done.

That's a photo of the blooming effect.
Have fun. It's your choice if you want to listen to my advice, you don't have to, it's a great picture either way
